Source: EU freezes 28 bln euros of Russian, Belarusian private assets
BRUSSELS, Dec 20 (PRIME) – The E.U. member-states have frozen about 28 billion euros of private investment of Russian and Belarusian businesspeople and companies, a source in the European Commission told PRIME on Wednesday.
"In this context we can say that the E.U. member-states have frozen about 28 billion euros of assets owned by Russian and Belarusian oligarchs and companies," the source said.
The E.U. adopted a 12th package of Russia-related sanctions on Monday taking the overall number of people and entities subject to restrictions to almost 2,000.
